Abstract

Objective. To demonstrate successful treatment of severe industrial hand injury followed by traumatic skin detachment.

Material and methods. The manuscript is devoted to historical review of the Krasovitov method of hand skin repair with full-thickness graft performed by the author of this method and modern treatment of hand injury with skin grafting by Krasovitov.

Results. Hand skin was completely restored within the first day after injury. Phalangization of the first interdigital space of the left hand was performed with preservation of gripping function.

Conclusion. June 26, 2020 marks 85 years of the first skin grafting by Krasovitov. This method ensures restoration of skin integrity on the first day after injury.
