Abstract

The article presents an overview of the features of facial and neck muscles that are targets for aesthetic botulinum toxin therapy and a detailed analysis of the anatomical variability of muscles depending on gender and age. Also, the article describes the state-of-the-art injection techniques of incobotulinumtoxinA (Xeomin), clinical cases, and patient follow-up results. The anatomical part of the study was carried out at the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. It included the dissection of 45 bioblocks of human origin (frozen non-transplantable biological material) with a certificate of compliance from the American Tissue Bank Association and a certificate of origin from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
