Abstract

Hardware technologies based on electromagnetic waves are becoming more popular in aesthetic medicine. The patented monopolar radio wave technology is of particular interest. This one-time and safe procedure without rehabilitation period is aimed at updating collagen fibers in skin that provides obvious clinical effects when correcting skin involution. The authors describe the impact of monopolar radio frequency technology on facial skin. To evaluate the results, the authors used ultrasound, assessment of skin hemodynamics, photo documentation and 5-point scale of satisfaction with post-procedure results. The follow-up period was 8 months. Qualitative characteristics of skin after 8 months demonstrated favorable clinical results with improvement of hemodynamic parameters while high satisfaction with procedure confirmed the effectiveness of this method.
