Abstract

Objective. To analyze the results of colpopoiesis with Singapore flaps in some patients without vagina.

Material and methods. There were 7 patients between October 2010 and February 2022. Of these, 3 ones had Müllerian aplasia, 2 transgender patients underwent previous unsuccessful penile inversion, 2 patients underwent previous vaginectomy for cancer. Age of patients ranged between 19 and 46 years. Singapore flap vaginoplasty technique was used in all presented cases.

Results. None patient experienced vaginal prolapse/displacement, vaginal and donor site dysesthesia, pathological scarring or other complications. In all cases, neovaginal pouch was two fingers wide in early postoperative period. Length of the neovagina ranged between 8.5 and 12 cm. We did not accurately measured parameters of neovaginal pouches subsequently, but patients emphasized no problems with neovagina and satisfaction with sexual function. Some patients reported the need for lubricants and appearance of intimate area as disadvantages.

Conclusion. Colpopoiesis with Singapore flaps can be a good choice for congenital and acquired vaginal abnormalities considering favorable results. The method is relatively simple, prevents many complications typical for other techniques and does not require lifelong dilation for preventing stenosis.
