Abstract

Objective. To develop a technique for nasal bone osteotomy with excision of the hump and subsequent suturing of nasal bones to the septum and stitching them together for narrowing of the middle third of the nose.

Material and methods. There were 64 operations between January 2022 and February 2023. All patients were female. Mean age of patients was 37 years (range 21-53). These patients underwent open rhinoplasty. When performing complete lateral, complete transverse, paramedian osteotomies of nasal bones, we applied a stabilizing corset suture.

Results. There were no early and late postoperative complications. Nasal dorsum was uniformly narrowed, symmetrical and stable. The aesthetic result planned at the preoperative stage was achieved.

Conclusion. Original technique effectively and uniformly narrows the middle third of the nasal dorsum and prevents aesthetic and functional postoperative complications.
