Abstract

Objective. To develop the method for reconstruction of 2 contralateral oral cavity defects using small intestinal flap in patients with primary multiple synchronous cancer.

Material and methods. We present surgical treatment of primary multiple squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity who underwent simultaneous reconstruction of two contralateral defects with one two-component small intestinal flap.

Results. Visceral flaps allow restoring the oral cavity tissues. This plastic material has mucous membrane releasing mucus for mouth moistening, contains soft tissue component for separation of cervical vessels from oral cavity.

Conclusion. Autotransplantation of visceral tissues allows not only restoring the oral tissues with the most suitable plastic material, but also reconstruction of contralateral defects after resection of tumors. This approach improves the results of social and functional rehabilitation.
