Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Lipoabdominoplasty is the most common procedure for body contouring. Combining objective measurements and clinical visual assessment allowed better understanding of the outcomes after surgery and facilitated comparative studies and statistical analysis.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The study design is a cross-sectional description. The study subjects were 20 patients who underwent aesthetic abdominoplasty (Saldanha technique) between June 2020 and June 2021.

RESULTS

In our study, all candidates had no further pregnancy plan with an average of 2.2 births per a woman. Most candidates have ideal body weight (BMI=24.55±3.23 kg/m2). The results showed significant improvement in BMI, abdomen diameters, vertical distances and clinical scores. Three patients had postoperative complications including seroma, ischemia and wound suturing imbalance.

CONCLUSION

Lipoabdominoplasty using Saldanha technique showed aesthetic improvement in abdominal shape, objective visual measurements. This procedure is associated with low complication rate.
