The review covers the main methods of surgical treatment of macromastia associated with benign breast dysplasia. Searching for literature data was conducted in the PubMed, EMBASE and Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, Science Direct, eLibrary databases using the keywords/mastalgia, mastodynia, chest pain, breast pain». Searching depth was 20 years. The titles of the articles and conference materials in English, German, Spanish, Turkish and Russian were used. This review includes original articles and reviews. Currently, numerous methods of surgical treatment of macromastia are used, but there are no studies confirming their effectiveness for macromastia combined with benign breast dysplasia. In planning of aesthetic breast surgery accompanied by breast reduction, it is necessary to take into account age, morphological features of mammary glands, principles of patient satisfaction and basic medical principles.
