Abstract

Objective. To analyze the effectiveness of photodynamic (PDT) and microcurrent therapy in rehabilitation after facial plastic surgery.

Material and methods. A systematic analysis of 27 articles (2015-2023) was based on the PubMed, eLibrary, and Cochrane Library databases. Clinical studies containing data on PDT and microcurrents in postoperative period were selected.

Results. Combination of PDT and microcurrent therapy reduces rehabilitation time by 30-40% compared to conventional methods. The greatest effectiveness was observed in correction of postoperative scars (45% improvement according to the POSAS scale) and reduction of edema.

Conclusion. The proposed method demonstrates good clinical results and can be recommended in plastic surgery.
