Abstract

Severe burn injury, in which there is a widespread lesion of the integumentary tissues, is accompanied by high mortality both during shock and with the onset of septic complications. This article presents the possibilities of surgical restoration of the skin in children with extensive burns. Four clinical cases of the use of cell therapy in combination with different autoplasty methods in younger children are described. The use of cellular technologies in the surgical treatment of patients of the younger age group with burns critical in area and depth allows saving the lives of victims, ensuring full-fledged plastic closure of burn wounds, as well as optimizing local treatment of wounds of donor sites with the possibility of early re-taking of skin grafts. The availability of the necessary material and technical base, including the possibility of cell product cultivation, intensive care, and perioperative replacement therapy with blood components, create full-fledged conditions for the recovery of patients who could previously be considered non-curable.
