Abstract

Objective. To describe and validate breast reconstruction technique using implants and synthetic film.

Material and methods. A prospective study included 50 patients diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022-2025. There were 74 simultaneous breast reconstructions using implants and synthetic film. The minimum follow-up period was 6 months. The complication rate and patient satisfaction with postoperative results were assessed using the BREAST-Q v. 2.0 questionnaire.

Results. The overall complication rate was 36.5% (n=27 breasts). Of these, redo surgery was necessary in 5.4% (n=4 breasts) of cases. In 6 months after surgery, patients completed the BREAST-Q v. 2.0 Reconstruction Module questionnaire. The median score of satisfaction with breasts was 65±7.4 points.

Conclusion. Breast reconstruction using implant and synthetic film allows for restoration or reinforcement of inframammary fold, implant stabilization and minimization of complications, as well as higher patient satisfaction with postoperative results.
